MIRROR MIRROR!
Or, that mirror reflection that is to be seen everywhere,
how did they do it?....

  Time: Approx. 10-15 minutes.

One interactive tool in DRAW that can do more tricks than most user realize will be the Interactive Transparency Tool. By using that You can add depths and 3D perspective to most graphics.
Be certain to do this on images that you feel will benefit from the perspective look and feel that you apply. As always, don't ower do it.

Select some graphic to add the depth to, I'm using a custom made from a flyer about my studio, "Why is some more famous than others" (Fig. 1), most graphis will do, even bitmaps if you have a transparent background, but this one is vector.(mostly)
Start by making a mirrored copy by selecting the upper middle handle, drag down towards the bottom, and before releasing the mouse button, right click (yoy'll see a litle +sign next to the curser), and there's your mirror copy (Fig. 2). Size can always be altered later on, so feel free to move on to the next step.

Next we'll need to convert that mirror copy to a bitmap (why! you say, because I say so! Feel free to continue without converting to bitmap, and it will become perfectly clear to you). Go to Bitmaps on the Menu Bar/Convert to Bitmap, make sure Anti-aliasing and Transparent background is selected (Default)

The next step will be to grab that glass of vine

from the tool box, be sure the new bitmap (Fig. 4) is selected, click and drag from some way above, release mouse button about the middle of the image. (It will be easy to go back later to alter the transparecy, so "No worrys").

Fig. 4. Add transparency
With the completion of the background and altering the transparency and shadowing to your liking, the job is done.
By using fountain fills and/or transparency you can add some depths or perspective to your "wall and floor" backgrounds.

In closing!
I am pleased if you have read the tutorial this far, and if you learned something new, it will make me smile for at least a week. If however you do not understand anything at all, and send me an angry E-mail to tell me that I write lousy tutorials. Please tell me what is wrong, and what can be done about it, Then I promise that I will walk around with a funny smile on my face for a whole month.
So, drop Me an E-mail to let me know.
Thanks, Finn
